I was previously running 10.4.6, but since the upgrade I can't access any of my SATA drives, which I could before. I've edited AppleVIAATA.kext in all the ways I can think of, I've tried using the exact same .kext which was working under .4.6 but none of it works. I'm still stuck with only IDE support. I thought just starting again might be a good idea, so I extracted the 'virgin' AppleVIAATA.kext from the JaS disc, then set about editing it as I already knew how to do and bingo! There it was.
