Treyarch
Hello, Posting to ask some help with my Hackintosh. I've tried playing some HD 720p videos on my Leopard and I've got image stuttering all over the place, I can't playback a single vdeo correctly. My setup is as follow: iATKOSv1.0r2+BadBios patch updated with kalyway 10.5.2 combo update with Netkas 9.2 kernel Speedstep/Shutdown fix. I also have the latest Nvinject 2.1 drivers installed. My rig is an Asus G1S, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz with 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM and a Geforce 8600GT 256MB. Does anyone have any idea that could be causing these issues? Thanks ! Treyarch
I've got all the right codecs installed via the Niceplayer guide so I know it's not a codec problem... Treyarch
Could it be my graphic card? It seems I've got performance issues with it... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93304-issues-with-videos-playback/#findComment-665535 Share on other sites
The Baron
Have you checked 'About this Mac', 'More info...' to see if you have QE/ CI? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93304-issues-with-videos-playback/#findComment-665543 Share on other sites
Treyarch
Yes I do, my card is detected correctly, I have QE/CI enable, 1680x1050 resolution, ram is detected but my interface seems sluggish from time to time, especially if I tried to move my finder window clickly around the desktop. The Baron
Have you tried video playback using VLC? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/93304-issues-with-videos-playback/#findComment-665595 Share on other sites
Treyarch
Yes I've tried it and I get the same results, it's even worse I get a ffmpeg error saying the framerate was more than 5 frame behind. It really seems to me more and more like my video card is not doing it job correctly. Treyarch
Just to inform, I fixed this issue by re-installing Leopard and with the new NVInstaller v4 drivers everything is working fine. I think it was both my speedstep kernel and the NVIDIA drivers not working well.
