ok well i have the same system and here's what i had to do to fix that problem.

during the customize screen, choose these options:

-Darwin x86 Bootloader

-SSE2/SSE3 Kernel

-Remove CPUPowerManagement Driver

-Remove Thermal kexts

Make Sure you select a compatible VGA driver, in my case:

--NVinject 256mb

-I selected the wireless patch and the Intel 10/100 driver for network

Hope this works for you like it did for me, the main reason it asks to restart is because you need to remove the CPU power management driver and thermal kexts. you MUST select sse2/sse3 kernel for it to get past the apple spinner. after these specs you should be well off.

-_- That happened to me once, and one time it just stood there spinning, then next it just froze. I installed ToH RC2 and i couldnt get it to boot with the DVD, so after 4 tried it booted with the DVD in the tray and booted into OSX, couldnt get it to run without the DVD but at least it worked. go with ToH RC2, i find it easier to get that working. :)
