Acrostic_Groove
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite A215-S5824 and Disk Utility is not detecting anything but the DVD. Changing something in BIOS won't work because the settings are very limited. Can anyone help me with this? I'll post whatever info you need of my laptop as long as it's possible. ADoNuT333
Which install dvd are you using? Most likely you will have to install a kext that supports your harddrive, which is based on the SB600 southbridge. Look around here or google. You should be finding a kext named "AppleVIAATA" or something similar. Acrostic_Groove
The DVD is described in here I think: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=73524 The contents of the image do not list any file named AppleVIAATA(or the like), however. ADoNuT333
Well there are other ways of doing the same thing. Zephyroth may have included it in a different file but I am not sure. You may want to try another install dvd such as Leo4All. It is the closest I have gotten to the install screen. You may have more luck. I could get to the install screen awhile ago but then I upgraded my bios and it will not load. Acrostic_Groove
I downloaded and used that while awaiting any reply. Unfortunately, it is not compatible due to the "still waiting for root device" problem. edit: It seems that one way to fix this is just by using an external hard drive. I have not installed it there(as it does not belong to me), but saw it in Disk Utility.
