The title say's it all.

Yes, I have an X1300 using AGP instead of the so common Bus:PCI in system profiler.

check out the screeny.

:::NOTE:::

You will have to edit IONameMatch with your chipset Dev/Pro ID's

P.S. This DOES NOT support PCI-E

P.S.S. This should work with any AGP graphic's card.

Here are the Openmark benchmarks..... And a screenshot for proof.

P.S. This platform is an SSE2 build.

Congratulations!

It is really that I want to see.

In your text result FPS=900 but on screenshot =400.

I had the same effect until I change IOPCIFamily to my version (2.4.4). Now FPS don't drop down during screenshot.

And many question:

What versions of ATI drivers are you use?

Additional drivers or replaces?

What is your aperture address and size set by AppleI386PCI?

Can you upload your ioreg (ioreg -l -x -w 2048)?

Can you test, please, my AGPGart with the same aperture?

doesnt work for me, kext loaded (moded info.plist)

but same result under XBENCH

here is the ioreg as usual

PS: can some modo move this topic into the appropriate forum section : Graphic cards http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...mp;s=&f=151

Ok, I will post an XBench benchmark.

Here is the thing, when an AGP card is using the PCI bus in os x, there is only a fraction of a millisecond less performance than running on the AGP bus. Thus, there is no real physical change in performance. You might gain a few extra bench number's here or there, but nothing ungodly, as it does'nt take much away from AGP reverting to a PCI bus!!!

The true reason for this driver is to allow a FULLY supported card to work and be properly recognized as to which bus it is working off of.

Moreover, AGP will register as AGP, not PCI.

It is a platform recognition driver, not IOAccelerator.

It also has nothing to do with framebuffer's or anything OpenGL related whatsoever!

By you telling me after installing the kext, your card is now working off the AGP bus, I am satisfied because the new kext is doing EXACTLY what it is ment to do. Show the correct bus.

P.S. I will post a benchmark, if you truely need me to, as soon as I get home tonight.

Hi Sling!

Did you see the post from Common Sense?

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...1308&st=254

It means that good working AGP driver can boost 4 times OpenGL graphics. It is not only bus tuning but also DMA translations of textures through GART table. (method commitAGPmemory for submitting data)

not sure what you meant.....add a string under the ionamematch by editing the Applei386pci.kext ?
You need to do an ioreg in terminal and find what the pci io name match is for your PCI to PCI bridge. If you can't find it just post your ioreg dump in this thread and I will tell you what it is.~Sling

Slice, if you want to change value's of the kext I posted, feel free. I am not aiming toward's direct programming value's as my only intent was to have the kext do what it is supposed to do. Read and Direct Bus information.~Sling
ive already done that slinger didnt u read what i said? my card is an X1600AGP. When using ur kext it is said to be AGP but no more performance see my ioreg

make an xbench and post

Your IOReg dump show's you are running 10.5.2 which is your problem. The kext is for Tiger only....

P.S.Can a Moderator relocate this to the Hardware:Subforum Graphic's please....

Your method in already known as AGPLight. AGP in system profiler and possibility to launch Final Cut Pro but no boost performance
