SDRacer48
Hi, I am currently reconfiguring how my home network is setup in regard to shared folders and printers and how they all interconnected. I think I have it all setup and ready to go except for one thing, sharing an NTFS volume when I boot into Mac OS X Tiger on my Desktop. I share this NTFS volume on my Desktop when I am booted into Windows XP MCE 2005 as my Home volume (you know videos, music, docs). I am always running into situations of when I am booted into Mac OS X and my wife wants a video or document from my Home volume, and she can't go onto the network and just grab it. It is quite frustrating. What I have done already: I have installed the SharePoints preference pane into System Preference. I have TRIED to share the Home volume via SharePoints, but when I access the volume from other PCs, the files don't work... at all. I have not installed Leopard, and will not, I am not a fan of the interface. Basically, is there another program I can use that offers NTFS support when sharing volumes via Mac OS X over a network? Thanks in Advance, Cody keep on macKIN' Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/92915-share-ntfs-volume-over-network-via-mac-os-x-tiger/ Share on other sites
hecker
I know this is not what you're looking for but you could consider buying an ethernet enabled HDD case that you could connect to your router. They are not so expensive and you get an integrated SMB and FTP server for free! I use one of those myself and I couldn't be happier with it. I would rather not spend the money if there is an alternative solution, but I will definately look into it...
