Okay. So I have a Kalyway for Intel SSE2 and SSE3 dvd burned, and an iATKOS dvd burned.

My two computers specs are in my signature. In the Pentium 4, the dimension 2350, with the iATKOS DVD and the flags -v and -legacy, it loads kexts and files and whatnot, then it stops, and the last line is:

BSD root: disk1s3, major 14, minor 4.

The same computer with Kalyway and the flags -v -legacy, loads kexts and files for a few minutes, then randomly restarts.

In the Xeon dual core, the Precision 530 MT, iATKOS, and the same flags, I get:

BSD root: disk1s3 major 14, minor 5

ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure

then it just stops.

Then I tried the same disc, but with flags -v -cpus=1, because I figured it would work maybe if I disabled a core. However, to my dismay, I got:

BSD root: disk1s3 major 14, minor 5

ERROR: Firewire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure

And once again, it stops.

I've searched the error, and I find nothing on the BSD root problem. Whats going on?

Does it have anything to do with me not having any unallocated area on my HDD's?

On the P4, the whole HDD is C:/, but there's still quite a lot of free space, however, because it's windows, I can't shrink the partition down to get my free space.

Any ideas, leads thoughts would be great, thanks. :P

On the dell precision try disabling the firewire features in the bios and try again, also try to disable any un-needed options in the bios (audio lan etc etc) and re-introduce once osx is up and running so you can rule out any hardware that may affect the install.
