NasT
Hi, I'm trying to hook up my HP NW9440 workstation with an Apple 30" Cinema display, but I can't get the resolution right: I only get 1280X800 Who can help me out? The HP is connected to the docking station and the docking is connected to the 30" Cinema Display by an DVI connector. Falcon351
Which OS are you running? In Windows, you may be able to set it to not hide unsupported (by the monitor) display modes.
NasT
Hi, I'm running Windows Vista, I've got the latest drivers for the Nvidia Quadro and the native resolution of the laptop screen is 1920 x 1200. Grtz
westwaerts
you need a dual link dvi card for 30" monitors.
yan.kun
Most Notebooks don't have a Dual link DVI port, wich is required for such big displays.
NasT
So I just sold my old computer for nothing, I was hoping I could attach it to my 30" screen :-( no work around possible?
westwaerts
30" screens have about 2600 x 1500 px and to get the full res no way with normal grafic cards.
Falcon351
You should still be able to get more than 1280x800 with a single link. The reason I suggested unhiding unsupported modes was because the driver may not be detecting them correctly. I remember that my 21" CRT supported higher resolutions than Windows would allow me to select if I let it "believe" the monitor about its capabilities.
