ericrcan
Hi. I installed leopard 10.5.2 on my amd machine and it seems to be working ok. i am having a few problems however. My 8600gts broke so i sent that in, so im using a x800 right now and the only resolution i can use is 1024x768, how can i change it? Also, my internet is going sooooooo slow. I have a a8n32 sli-deluxe mobo. How do I get the ethernet card working right? Thanks. p.s. i do not know anything about kexts (?) or anything like that. Also, i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but when i look at posts here, i see all the replys in a LoFi type of list. i have to click each reply to read it. And with this net going so slow it takes FOREVER. thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91917-complete-noob-please-help/ Share on other sites

ericrcan
I tryed that and it didnt work.. I have never used a mac before (except for word or safari), so i dont know the terminal at all. i did what it says, but it always says "WARNING: blah blah blah" right before i put my pass and hit enter. Is that normal? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91917-complete-noob-please-help/#findComment-656038 Share on other sites
apowerr
I have the same board. To fix internet, go into the BIOS settings. I cannot remember under what category it is, but make sure 1394 is disabled. If that doesn't help, install forcedeth (for nforce lan controller). The reason you can't change resolutions is because you don't have any kexts installed for your graphics card (this means you don't have QE/CI either). Try Natit from netkas.org, install it with kext helper. Hope this helps =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91917-complete-noob-please-help/#findComment-656095 Share on other sites

Skyper
First of all what is the resolution you should have ? When you know what resolution you should have you type on boot in darwin: "Graphics Mode"="0000x0000x32" You replace the O with the right resolution in my case it will be "Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32" After you boot in add this string below the kernel flags in apple.com.boot.plist <string>"Graphics Mode"="0000x0000x32" Good luck.
