big_man_tree Posted March 5, 2008 Share Posted March 5, 2008 Hey, so i decided to build a new computer, i want to run mac osx on it leopard most likley 10.5.1, i basically just want to run final cut pro and imovie so its mainly for video editing, so was just looking for opinions on what you all think and any advice, here is my hardware Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Socket LGA775, 2.2 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache, 65nm (Retail Box) (BX80557E4500) - 134.99 EVGA e-GeForce 8600GT SSC 256MB (256-P2-N758-TR) nVidia GeForce 8600GT Chipset (684Mhz) (1620Mhz) 256MB DDR3 Dual DVI PCI-Express Graphics Card - 104.99 Memory - Patriot Signature DDR2 2GB CL5 PC2-5300 (667MHz) DIMM (PSD22G6672) - 40.99 Hard Drive - Hitachi HD 160GB SATA 3.0Gb 7200rpm 8MB bulk 3.5-inch (0Y30006) - 49.99 i was planning to use this motherboard Motherboard - Asus P5GC-MX/1333 Socket 775 Intel 945GC ICH7 Chipset Dual Channel DDR2 SATA 3Gb/s 6 Channel HD Audio Support 1066Mhz FSB Mirco ATX - $60.99 but apparantly the LAN does work according to the wiki........so i was gonna change to ASROCK 4coredual-SATA2 does anyone know if that is supported? i know the ASROCK 4coredual-VSTA is supported, they are fairly similar motherboards tho... help would be appreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No need to change boards you like because a feature is not working, you can pick up a lan card for cheap. If you wait couple of weeks more a new processor is coming out thats about 200mhz faster and $40 more expenisve but it's supposely good for video apps.
