tech4
I did the 10.5.2 Kalyway update. When I went to the installscript folder it said I didn't have rights and then it dissapeared. When I hit the Show hidden object button I lost the finder so I restarted expecting it to die. It didn't die and it went to the login screen. I enetered the password but it just keeps coming back to it. It knows when I enter an incorrect password but, when I enter the correct one it goes to the blue screen then back to the login window. What do I need to change to fix this. I am guessing it has to do with the install script that I didn't change. Any help will be appreciated. tech4
So, I made a clone of the drive before I did anything and I was able to restore it. I would like to try the 10.5.2 update from kalyway. I searched on how to's but I was not able to find a complete what to do. Now when I run the updater do I do it from the command line? SticMAC™
Try booting with: "Graphics Mode" = "640x480x32" -v This took me through to the desktop yesterday! Due to the upgrade you might have lost your display driver kext and will have to re-install it! "When I went to the installscript folder it said I didn't have rights and then it dissapeared." If you didn't update the installer script you might need to remove the "do not steal Mac.....".kext and redo the dsmos.kext but mine worked after i did the graphics thing! maybe this helps? tech4
I didn't know you had to access the script in the terminal. There are little things missed in the posting that people put here. Just chalk it up to a learning curve. I made a clone of the drive and restored it and tried again and I was able to use terminal to change the script. David Alex
Im having a similar problem. Everytime I attempt to login it accepts my password but goes back to the login screen. It also knows when I am typing in a wrong password. Is blue screen a gfx error then?
