  1. Hello guys, I installed a version of Chameleon and it hides the partition on completion. How do you make the partition visible again? Sorry for the dumb question but I looked for awhile and the search results turn up about folders. I am at a lost. Thank you for the help!
  2. So here is my issue and question. I already have a string for my graphic card and it works great but now I want to add one for my audio. How to I add the hex to the com.apple.boot.plist? This is what i have: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=i386</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> <key>device-properties</key> <string>430200000100000001000000370200000d00000002010c00d041030a010000000101060000010 101060000007fff04000e0000004e00560050004d0000002000000001000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000220000005600520041004d002c0074006f00740061006c00730 069007a006500000008000000000000101c0000006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000 650000000f0000004e5644412c506172656e740e0000006e0061006d00650000000b0000006469737 06c617922000000400030002c006400650076006900630065005f00740079007000650000000b0000 00646973706c617922000000400031002c006400650076006900630065005f0074007900700065000 0000b000000646973706c6179100000006d006f00640065006c0000001a0000006e56696469612047 65466f726365203732303020475320000000400031002c0063006f006d00700061007400690062006 c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d616314000000400030002c006e0061006d006500000012 0000004e5644412c446973706c61792d4114000000400031002c006e0061006d00650000001200000 04e5644412c446973706c61792d4220000000400030002c0063006f006d0070006100740069006200 6c00650000000e0000004e5644412c4e564d6163100000004e0056004300410050000000180000000 4000000000001000600000000000007000000001e00000072006f006d002d00720065007600690073 0069006f006e0000000500000038</string> </dict> </plist> Now the question is: Do I add a second "<key>device-properties</key>" then add the hex string or do I just a new string line?
  3. The link doesn't work, Kaho, Thanks for the package. It all worked great.
  4. First, if this was already discussed I apologize and you could post a link to the topic it would be appreciated. Well looking at the list of compatible it seems a lot of the boards are discoed. Now when looking for a new board, what chip sets and other specs should I look for? Is there a holy grail of motherboards? I only ask because I not 100% on what I should be looking for. The list's are awesome and a great help but like I said the ones that look the best are not offered anymore. The other question is when I look at board specs should I be concerned what the north bridge is? I realize after writing this I need to do more reading on what they are. Sorry if this is a stupid question and if there is a more appropriate place for this question let me know. Thank you for your help guys. You guys and gals are do some amazing things. I would never thought it possible to run the os on anything else other then an Apple computer. I writing this right now on a Acer Aspire One D150 running Mac OS X 10.5.8.
  5. Acer Aspire One A150: iPC OSx86 10.5.6

Here's a dumb question. How do you know if your using 2 cores or 1. When I look at activity monitor it shows 2 processes but in onyx it says I have 1 core. Oh sorry, this is on a Acer d150 but I guess the question can be asked for any Hackintosh install. Sorry for the foolish question
  6. I will have to try it on Windows. I'll report later.
  7. Just look at the spec of some signatures to get a feel what people are using. It seems to me that Gigabyte boards with the P35 chip set seem to work the best. As for video cards got to eshop.macsales.com. They sell hardware for Macs. All there stuff works on Macs. I am using the new Mac thin aluminum keyboard and all the hotkeys work. As for building this for your girl your a brave man. Just remember you cannot do the updates like you would on a real Mac. They tend to mess thing up. Also I would check out efi-x. That might a route to go. They have a hardware list. It should cut down the update issues although I don't have one yet.
  8. OK. I am dumb. I just remembered that I should right click on the drive and see what the permission where. Low and behold they were set to read only. Sorry for wasting space and your time. As always, thanks to all the work all you guys are doing. I just wish I knew more so I could contribute. THANKS AGAIN!
  9. OK. I ran the update again and did the AHCI Updates and one other IOAHCIBlockStorageiconfix.kext that was in this thread. I got the silver drives back but now when I go to create a folder on the boot hard disk I get a Authentication required. Actually I get it when I do anything, like delete a file, move file or anything else like that there. Man, I lossing my hair. This update was the hardest I have ever done. Thank you all for the all the work that has been done.
  10. Hello guys. I tried the ACHI fix on 10.5.5 and it worked fine but I'm having trouble with it on 10.5.6. When I install the kexts I get a waiting for root device error. I get the following errors. 24IOAHCIBlockStorageDevice is not compatible with its superclass, 20IOAHCIBlockStorageDevice superclass changed? Failed to load extension com.apple.iokit.IOAHCIBlockStorage. Couldn't alloc class "AppleAHCIDiskDriver" Do any of you brainiac know what this means? I am stumped. This on a Gigabyte Ep35-DS3L Motherboard. I am lost. Can I ask another question, How do you guys know so much. Is there something I can read to more familarize myself?
  11. What's a flat image?

I think I didn't get the point across. What's a flat image? How do I create one. All the post talk about using them but they don't explain how to create them or what they are.
  12. I see every where talking about instaling from or creating a flat image. What does that mean. Is it just a DMG file? I looked to what it was but I got thousands of hits about using them but not what it is. Sorry for the dumb question.
