Tyler valo Posted March 1, 2008 Share Posted March 1, 2008 Install DVD used: Kalyway 10.5.1 Boot from DVD and go to Disk Utility and click the actual Hard Drive. Partition it with one partition flagged as MBR In customize, select options SSE2 and efi_mbr flag Wait forever Post Boot If yours is like mine and only boots with the DVD, then load the DVD, strike F8 and boot with option –s When the loading screen stalls, and you can type, enter in information "cd /usr/standalone/i386" then press "Enter" At prompt type "./startupfiletools -v /dev/rdiskXsX boot" where X is your HDD number and OSX partition number like my drive is on master and osx on 3rd partition ==> rdisk0s1 then enter and wait a few seconds When it stalls again, you can reboot the computer and remove the DVD…with luck..SUCCESS! Wireless This was the hardest part. If you have the Intel 2200BG card, here's how it work. With the iwi2200.zip file (Located HERE), extract it to the desktop. Move the iwi2200.kext to /System/Library/Extension chown -R root:wheel iwi2200.kext chmod -R 755 iwi2200.kext Move nsGUI.app & networkselector to /Application chown / chmod in same mode of iwi2200.kext reboot f8 / -v at darwin loader When it comes back you, you'll have to go to Applications, open the Network Selector First. When the options come up it should look like this: Wellcome to the insanelyMac SpacePort 0.1Adapter [mode: 0 led: off]Associated: 'linksys (00:06:25:10:18:11)' 1) Turn card off2) Network List 3) Switch led 4) Change mode5) Close Program 0) Refresh Enter Option: Select option 1 to turn the card on ( I think it's off by default) then open nsGUI. The wireless icon should appear in the top right. Right click it and "Open Main Window" Select your network (Note: This will not work with WPA networks, nor open in MY experience for some reason) In the even you never get an IP address and it just loops forever "Getting IP address" you'll need to do this next step. Go to Network settings, System Preferences->Network. Click Add (+ button). on interface list should be 2x Ethernet (or 3x if you have 2xLAN & 1xIntel WIFI) you have to add correct one (after adding click advanced->ethernet to check ethernet MAC)If you find your WIFI card change to manual and fill text boxes with your ip, mask gate and dns. Jx3 Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 Tyler, Thanks very much for this little guide, it worked a treat for me on my D610..., I also have the same issue with the WiFi as yourself, not working with WPA but for some reason, my LAN doesn't work either so I have no external connectivity, just wondering if you've experienced the same issue?
