twiztog46
im kind of a noob at this, but i got everything working BUT the sound. i just checked my motherboard specs and it has Realtek ALC861VD integrated. at this point i am unsure of what to do exactly or what to look for. i tried looking for drivers but none for OSX (of course) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91017-realtek-alc861vd-sound-fix/ Share on other sites

snakeozy
Hi. I have your same soundcard Realtek ALC861VD. This card is also called ALC862 and you will find the text files quicker with this name. Search for the last AppleHDAPatcher and the 862 files and it should work on your systems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91017-realtek-alc861vd-sound-fix/#findComment-650539 Share on other sites
twiztog46
Hi. I have your same soundcard Realtek ALC861VD. This card is also called ALC862 and you will find the text files quicker with this name. Search for the last AppleHDAPatcher and the 862 files and it should work on your systems thanks but i still cant get it to work. heres where i have been looking for files http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 i was wondering if you can post up the links for those files you used, and how exactly do i use them. i have been reading everywhere but i cant get my sound to work. every time i tried i always seem to corrupt OSX some way. i have installed OSX about 6 times now just trying to get my sound working. -thanks in advanced also when i downloaded (the latest) AppleHDAPatcherv1.18 it tells me to "please drag and drop your linux codec dump into the AppleDHA Patcher icon." first of all what do i drag in? and where do i get it for my integrated sound card and im guessing its the frog looking icon on the DOCK. so whe you tried to install this correctly was it easy? i mean how did it start working? did you have to go to "System Prefrences" to get it to work? so far (from the link above) i have tried these so far to get my sound working...ALL WITH NO LUCK. well maybe its just me, but i am probably doing it wrong if its one of these that you have used to get your integrated sound working. may you please give intructions on how exactly you did it....? Dave1554353i
i found out the problem, when i installed leo4all v2 it had an option appleazalia in the cusomise section in audio that i installed that but the sound still didnt work but i just got some kext messages saying not installed properly so i found this appleazalia file dragged it to the desktop, opened up Kext Helper b7 dragged the file appleazalia.kext from the desktop into the kext helper, typed in my password in the password box, then clicked easy install, it said everything should be fine fingers crossed and reboot. so i rebooted and i had sound, it must have been how the appleazalia.kext got installed during setup, something must have been wrong but using Kext Helper b7 it installed it and now its working, of course i dont have line in but i dont care about that right now i just wanted the audio working, and i have full use of the volume control on the menu bar, itunes all the volume controls available work even the keyboard controls so im happy:D Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/91017-realtek-alc861vd-sound-fix/#findComment-801275 Share on other sites
