geigertube
Hi, apologies for what may be a simple/stupid question, but after having the 10.5.2 update break my install, I use the Kalyway DVD to use Time Machine to restore my disk, not realizing that it wouldn't copy the EFI/bootloader data. I've searched all over to find out how to repair the guid instead of mbr bootloader, but am not coming up with squat. Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction? I'm using the same hardware that the lifehacker/kalyway install used. If it requires reinstalling EFI, im kind of screwed, as I dont have a mac formatted USB drive. I'm hoping that there's a terminal fix for this. Thanks very much.. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90728-bootloader-issue/ Share on other sites

I have attached my bootloader install script that actually works. Hop that this will help. ccg bootefi.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90728-bootloader-issue/#findComment-647668 Share on other sites
geigertube
Thanks, I'll try the FAT jump drive fix if this happens again, I ended up repartitioning, reinstallling, and then Time Machining. Now I just need to figure out why the "safe" Kalyway 10.5.2 update made my system go into a rebooting cycle. Gah.
