mikeking Posted February 28, 2008 Share Posted February 28, 2008 I have installed iatkosv1.0 and when i start it back up, it just reboots the cd. When i take the cd out, it brings me to the dual boot screen which i previously set up. When i go to mac osx x86, it goes to the darwin boot screen, counts down, and reboots my computer. I dont know what to do to fix this problem. Also you may want to look at the chipset on that mobo and see if you can tell what type it is. BUMPing this up because I have the same motherboard on my Gateway E-Series (4000) desktop and am having terrible problems getting Leopard to install on my machine. Conversely, I have had very few issues getting Tiger to work on this same box, so if mikeking is still around and willing to go a release behind just to be able to run OSX86, I'd recommend he try hunting down the (JAS) 10.4.6 release. Personally I still want to be able to run Leopard on here if at all possible! What vid card? What's going on that you can't install? What are you using to install Leopard? What vid card? What's going on that you can't install? Chevy Yeah, well it's what I got! My old box was an AMD Anthlon--ask me how well that installed OSX86.... Of course I still had my Dell Inspiron 5100 which installed everything fairly well in Tiger, even got QuartzExtreme working with the ATI 7500 back then. I've tried iATKOS_v7, JaS' 10.5.4, XXX 10.5.6... I have iPC on download and am hoping that will be the magic button. Currently running JaS' Tiger 10.4.6 which works well, but is quite slow at times due to the VESA drivers (Geoforce4 MX440 video card) but as I said above, still works much better than my old box which wasn't even powerful enough to run OSX86 at all! What am I trying to do? Simple--I also have an eeepc 901and I'm trying to get OSX86 working from USB key so I can install it on that unfortunately all the programs for making usb keys bootable seem to require Leopard to work... Hence my attempts to install on this older chipset which would probably be much happier running Tiger. What's the problem? Well, in the event I manage to get the installer running and install the OS I seem to get screwed up somewhere either with the video card (hmm...I think I'll skip the video drivers selection next time I try this) or with the bootloaders.
