mic100000 Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Hello, can please modifly the bios for my ASUS M50SA laptop. bios link => http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/M50Sa/M50SA204AS.zip CPU: T9300 Intel PM965 3 GB RAM 667 ATI HD 3650 Mobility (1GB VRAM DDR2) I can't install Kalyway 10.5.2 cause of kernel panic. Leo4all worked but just with cpu=1. Hope you can mod the bios so that the 2 cores will work. My specs are: Chipset nforce 4 nvdia cpu amd athlon 64x2 3600+ 2.01ghz model opteron 170 video sapphire ati hd2600pro pci e 512 vram ram kingmax ddr2 400 4gb detected as 667mz 128bit dual channel 3407etc instead of 4096 (this is normal on bit hardware) As follows modified bios settings usb mouse disabled lan rom wake up disabled all ports and fdd disabled in cell menu i have never canged anything The issue i have is NO KEYBOARD OR KEYBOARD NOT PRESENT ( it appears each time i restart or shut down from an os and i push power button to switch on. I am obbliged to switch off power supply button to don't have the issue) and sometimes ide channel don't work. Kalyway 10.5.2 works fine but only with Sleep kernel and only on 1 Core and if the the APIC Option on Enabled got always the knowen Reboot Window! If u have time i hope u can help me! JFL1800 Posted November 23, 2008 Share Posted November 23, 2008 Hi , Im having an acer 4520 AMD Turion 64x2 TL60 processor with Geforce 7000M integrated graphic chipset. I've been trying hard to get the graphic card to work with QE/cI support but to no avail. I know this thread was suppose for mod BIOS so that the cores can be recognised. But wondering if you have any idea as to whether the BIOS play a role for OS X to recognise my graphic card as to then allocate the appropriate system memory to it. As you see Geforce 7000M has no dedicated video memory. So BIOS allocation of the system memory may play a role here. I have tried using the latest 10.5.5 geforce kext drivers from the macbook pro update but still end up having freeze screen during boot up. Hope you can help. Given your experience with bios modding do you think it would be possible to mod the bios in a way that would allow it to boot without being plugged in? If so what steps would i need to take and how? blitzman Posted November 27, 2008 Share Posted November 27, 2008 Hello, Just wondering if I could get a modified bios for my mobo. The Model is GA-EP35-DS3L and it has the Intel P35 + ICH9 Chipset. It seems to hang at boot for the iDeneb 10.5.5 install. I also have the Ati HD 3870 video card. i believe their are kexts for the video card and the sound which is ALC888 and i will probably also have to install the ICH9 kext which im not quite sure what the name of the kext is but if you could modify the bios for my motherboard it would be greatly appreciated. I’m also wondering if you’ve been able to get your sata drives working. That was also a issue for me that I had to install to an old IDE drive because of boot issues and have heard sata drives won’t work for the most part. Is this still true?
