Mac in the Creek
Hello everybody! I'm planning to build a hackintosh using some of the hardwares from my defunct desktop computer, as I have sold my Macbook to my sister to fix my financial problem and I still need a computer to do my homework. This also means I'll have to cut down the cost as much as possible (btw my sister still hasn't paid for my Macbook yet!), but I'll still need a mb with at least 2 PCI Express x16 slots and possibly x38 chipset (for 45nm processor support). I've got everything else necessary (unless there's no way to install Kalyway or such with a USB DVD drive) and my budget is around $200~ $250 (or as cheap as possible). I don't have extensive knowledge in computer hacking myself so I'll need something which runs "out of box" with the least tweaking and unusable parts possible. Any help and advice will be very much appreciated, thanks a lot! ps. These are the options I found from newegg, is it possible to find cheaper deals on these boards elsewhere and please show me the link if possible, thanks! marliwahoo
Hello, and welcome to the forum ! Good luck finding your board. Sadly, the mb question gets asked and answered here almost every day. I searched this web site and found answers to some of your questions. Here is where to start to find your answer: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=89659&hl=
