Hello!

I've tried like 8 different install disks now (tiger & leopard), none of them worked.. ;)

I got Kalyway 10.5.1 now on DVD, I tried to boot it and I got:

panic(cpu 3 caller 0x00192754): "pmap_flush_tlbs( ) timeout: " "cpu 1 failing to respond to interrupts, pmap = 0x538180 cpus_to_sinal=7"@/Volumes/disk1s2/leo_xnu/xnu-1228/i386/pmap.c: 4569

( I wrote it on paper, couldn't find a camera, so it can contain some typos )

With 3/4 of the install disks I get this error.. What's wrong? :(

When you boot from the disk press F8 as it says, then where it says boot type -v cpus=1 that might work, worked for me but i am using iATKOSv1.0ir2... i haven't used Kalyway yet. But in in verbose mode you should see what its doing, note down any other errors it might give. Hopefully it will be nice. ;)

Thanks, I got a little further with cpus=1, now I get "Still waiting for root device"..

Gald to hear it.

What is your system spec? 'Still waiting for root device' usually means that its waiting for a drive that is not compatible, If you use a SATA drive, try and use an IDE Harddisk, if that fails, try using an IDE Harddisk and DVD-ROM set as Master/Slave on the device jumpers. That worked for me, 'cause my Nforce SATA was not compatible.

Have a shuffle around inside your computer to see whats what, but your specs would be helpful.

I've made a Everest Home Edition report (very long): Click here

Here is some basic info:

It is a "Microstar" PC, a sub-company of Medion (I think).

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

RAM: 2GB 667Mhz

Motherboard: MS-7358 = Q35MDO (Found it on Google, not 100% sure)

Chipset: ICH9

Graphics Card: Nvidia 8500GT (soon 8800GT)

I believe, but I'm not sure, that 10.5 likes to boot off of a sata hard drive. I'm not sure about that. I DO know that people get still waiting for root device when booting from a dvd-rom drive that uses pata.

However, this could all be specific to my board.

Could also be a BIOS setting... but I don't know which. You could try playing around with any that involve IDE or SATA. Just jot down the original settings so you can put them back for XP :)!
