Adrian
I've searching in the forum but.. nope. I have a fresh install of 8F1111 (with JaS 4.1) and all runs great in my acer laptop. But, for PPC apps, i cannot find the option to run them with rosetta. How can I do this? Thanks! ced1610
just launch PPC apps, there are nothing different between launching intel or ppc aps... you can select "open with Rosetta" (select app and read the informations "apple key-i") for universal binary only. one more thing, you must have sse3 for rosetta...and celeron mobile do not have it.... Adrian
Thanks The thing is that i cannot run any powerpc application (the icon appears in the dock and suddently dissapears, it might be a crash) i've tried messenger 5.0, limewire... And the option of Run with rosseta doesnt appear in the information menu. My processor is a P725 M, but, the JaS patch includes sse3 emulation, or not? Thranks a lot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8977-quick-question-how-to-use-rosetta/#findComment-55770 Share on other sites
R. Bear Helms
I have been reading that the CPU "M" series has more than just SSE3 emulation problems. Check the Wiki for Hardware Compatibility List and see if the CPU listings have your processor listed as compatible. If not, we may have a case for an incompatibility listing, at least with the SSE3 emulator. The SSE3 emulator is so new I'm sure it's not even in a "beta test" state of being right now... so we all are going to have to wait for any future updates to it. Adrian
In the Wiki: Pentium M 725 (1.6GHz 400FSB - Dothan) Intel No NX/Broken PAE Works fine with Maxxuss' 1.1 ISO patch I don't understand, it means that in order to run a powerpc app, yo only have to execute it? How can I know that rosetta is running flawless, I need to apply another patch, run another kernel or something? Note that universal apps run great (itunes, dee park, azureus, quicksilver....) Redinox
I have the same problem (PPC apps appear for a second at the dock, then dissapear), universal apps are OK. The odd thing is that when i restart MAC OS (native installation, 8f1111 Jas patch) all PPC apps work great! After a while the problem appears again. At first i traced the problem to Quicktime (when i started it, I could not open PPC apps), i reinstalled it and everything worked great for a while, but then the same problem again. I will possibly try to reinstall MAC OS and see what happens My system Pentium 4 (1.9Ghz) SSE2 ATI Radeon 9550 256mb (Core & QE working with 9700 ATI drivers) Terratec USB Aueron MK II 5.1 (working) D-Link Ethernet (working) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8977-quick-question-how-to-use-rosetta/#findComment-67153 Share on other sites
