vlad1966
From what I've seen, slmost all medium/high-end P35 chipset mobos will work. The main thing to look out for is if the Ethernet & sound chip that this board uses will work. From what I can tell, you most likely will need to do some patching for both. Don't think they'll work out of the box. Torell
I just got this board and I'm running an old 10.5.1 install on it works great doing a fresh install today EDIT: fresh install went great, didn't choose AHCI used a pioneer sata dvd drive set as primary master 0, and my sata Seagate was set as primary master 1 GUID and Vanilla using Kalyway 10.5.1 (haven't done the updates to 10.5.2 yet, but i'm positive it works) NVInstaller v0.33 for my 7600gt and used Taruga's HDA patcher v1.20 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 with the and the ALC885 codec dump found on this forum http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=71257 LAN works out of the box good luck with your install Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89510-is-the-dfi-dk-p35-t2rs-compatible-with-leopard/#findComment-639758 Share on other sites

Sweet... So then I'll be installing it via Kalyway and doing exactly what you did. Thanks for the links to btw, I'm really glad this'll work! How are you positive that 10.5.2 works? Torell
the kalyway 10.5.2 update doesn't affect kexts (drivers), so if the board will run 10.5.1, it'll most likely run 10.5.2 i will be updating to 10.5.2 shortly, i plan on getting a nice overclock with this board, overall a very solid board just make sure you purchase a quality power supply, DFI boards need at least 480w for stable power i bought a corsair hx-520w, another thing to keep in mind, DFI boards are also very picky with RAM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89510-is-the-dfi-dk-p35-t2rs-compatible-with-leopard/#findComment-639826 Share on other sites
smeeIT
Ok thanks! I've got a Antec NeopPower 550w PSU, do you think thats enough? I'm planning on either using a 2GB kit of Cruciall Ballistix 800Mhz Cas4 or Corsair 800Mhz Cas4. I may even do 4GB.... I'm going to put an E6600 in it, and an 8800GT 512MB, it's all going to be watercooled. Torell
yeah i have 2gb in it right now of ocz platinum rev2 and have another set sitting on my desk ready to go your choices should be fine, the most important thing to do is make sure the board is running first, once it's stable then you can install osx the DFI board has an 8pin EPS 12volt plug, check to see if the neo power has that plug, even though you shouldn't need it as a 4 pin should be good enough, i opted not to risk it (http://www.antec.com/connectors.php?ProdID=28550&SetZone=en) looks like you have the right plugs, go for it! you can use memtest to check stability, 8-10 passes of test 5 and 8, then 8-10 hours of the full 10 tests if every passes you have great ram when you use nvinstaller, pick the first option for drivers, then the 512 option for your card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89510-is-the-dfi-dk-p35-t2rs-compatible-with-leopard/#findComment-639867 Share on other sites
Torell
here's a bit of useful info hitting esc key will bring up boot menu to boot from whatever drive you want assuming the 6 sata ports are labelled like this (looking at the side of the board lying horizontally) 5-----3-----1 4-----2-----0 Channel 0 Master is SATA 1 Channel 0 Secondary is SATA 3 Channel 1 Master is SATA 0 Channel 1 Secondary is SATA 2 I have my Seagate OSX drive as Ch 0 M WD Vista drive as Ch 0 S Pioneer SATA drive as Ch 1 M WD XP drive as Ch 1 S ...and an external 750gb drive for time machine Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89510-is-the-dfi-dk-p35-t2rs-compatible-with-leopard/#findComment-639940 Share on other sites
zSpudatoX
i can also confirm that this board works great with osx! only problem im having is getting my damned 3870 working properly on it. otherwise a very nice board that i highly recommend, currently have a q6600 running at 3.3GHZ with 4GB of ram. edit: i installed kalyway 10.5.1 and updated with the combo update kalyway released to 10.5.2 and it was successful Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89510-is-the-dfi-dk-p35-t2rs-compatible-with-leopard/#findComment-639982 Share on other sites
a6d9cmro
Have the DFI board. Installed a retail copy of Leopard. shutdown, restart, network all functional at first boot. Installed aftermarket Firewire, sees that also.
