Hi im in the process of buying a new graphics card for my hack to run Leopard. Im currently using GMA 900 on Tiger.

The thing i dont understand though are all these drivers (Macvidia, Titan, Natit Nvinject), why are the so many do you need all of them to run the graphics card?

What are these drivers like are the as good as using cards natively supported in OS X?

I have my eye on:

Do you know if this will be supported with these drivers with QE/CI etc, will a dual display work on this card and does the main display have to be connected to the DVI port?

Will this work on Leopard an be better than the GMA 900?

I have tried looking for this information on this and other sites but have not been able to find it.

This is a repost dont know where the last one went.

apple system loads from the efi ( hardware chip)the hardware configuration.

though we all have bios and no efi, to get it work you need a workaround.

1. natit, nvinject, etc. are enablers, that direct the system kernel what kexts to load for the grafic card to run.

2. you also can write a hex string in the efi ( we have a software efi) to do the same.

you still need the apple kexts, cause they are loaded and do the work. so any card that apple builts in is good for you. ( i am not sure, but the 8400 is said to be tricky)

Okay thanks for the reply, what would be an easy and cheap solution for getting qe/ci enabled in leo. I dont want to change my motherboard if i can help it because im quite happy with my current one.

Will an ATI 2400 or 2600 be a better option as these are supported on the current iMacs?

Thanks again.
