john014
\Bump I have the same work laptop and would like to have it installed, but i cant for the life of me get the thing to load the install. Heres what i tried: 1. "io=0x14 not as expected error" got past this by setting io=0x21. 2. gettting passed that give me acpi and apic errors. downloaded the ideneb release and tried to boot install with "noapic" kernel. this dont work either as it then fails on AppleAcpiEventController which is i assume because it does not recognise the HDD controller in its current mode (not AHCI, because bios has no setting to change) 3. tried to research "modbin" bios menu unlocker, but whenever i load my rom.bin i get a binary checksum error and i cant get any further. tried all of borgs tools to edit the bios but to no avail. Therefore, i have given up until i can change the bios settings within the bios by unlocking the menu options, as we all know HP lock down all options the dont want you to touch. Sh**ers. Please someone help if you know how to unlock this bios or if you know something i dont about a way to get macOS to install. Thanks in Advance. mofojones
Not exactly the answer you guys want, but about a year or two back I had it installed on an external usb drive. I don't remember now what worked and what didn't, but the install was successful, and the thing would boot. Septic Fart
I got the same laptop as the OP, same error. Is there no way of getting an install working without an external USB drive?
