ATI X1250 graphics card

ATI RS690 Chipset / SB600 southbridge

SATA 250GB Samsung HDD

DVD-RAM burner

Other usual laptop hardware [card reader etc]

I have tryed iATKOS, Zephyroth [10.5.2] and get the same error:

\Bump

I have the same work laptop and would like to have it installed, but i cant for the life of me get the thing to load the install.

Heres what i tried:

1. "io=0x14 not as expected error" got past this by setting io=0x21.

2. gettting passed that give me acpi and apic errors. downloaded the ideneb release and tried to boot install with "noapic" kernel.

this dont work either as it then fails on AppleAcpiEventController which is i assume because it does not recognise the HDD controller in its current mode (not AHCI, because bios has no setting to change)

3. tried to research "modbin" bios menu unlocker, but whenever i load my rom.bin i get a binary checksum error and i cant get any further.

tried all of borgs tools to edit the bios but to no avail.

Therefore, i have given up until i can change the bios settings within the bios by unlocking the menu options, as we all know HP lock down all options the dont want you to touch. Sh**ers.

Please someone help if you know how to unlock this bios or if you know something i dont about a way to get macOS to install.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi I'm facing the same issue as you guys. My hardware is almost exact to both of yours and I've tried Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo4allv3, and soon to be iAtkosv4a. My bios is Insyde H2O Setup Utility and it doesn't have the option for ahci mode ether. I've almost lost all hope in thinking i can run OS X86 :P

My specs are as followed:

Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5895

Amd Turion X2 mobile 2.0 ghz

ATI X1250 graphics card

ATI RS690 Chipset / SB600 southbridge

3gb Ram

250gb HDD

Pioneer DVD-RW ATA

I got the same laptop as the OP, same error.

Is there no way of getting an install working without an external USB drive?

I've tried to install with no hdd - but i cannot even get into the installer

- tried with many distros and most recently i've tried to install iPC X-DL 10.5.6 from disk and form an external hdd - but i still get stuck at the same place - i dont get anywhere near the installer.........
