XFX MG-630i-7109 LGA 775 GeForce 7100

$69.99

Crucial Ballistix 2GB(2 x 1GB) DDR2 800

$39.99

Western Digital Caviar RE2 320GB 7200RPM 16MB Cache SATA300

$89.99

Sony NEC Optiarc Black 20x DVD +/- RW, +/- DL with LightScribe SATA Burner

$29.99

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache

$189.99

The list with those particular brands is about $420.00 at the moment....

You could go with a smaller hard drive, slower processor, etc. I put the biggest bang for the buck on there.....

See what else you can find that might interest you... :)

GOOD LUCK!

It depends really,

I have not seen a user in the forums yet that is using this motherboard, even though I am very interested in this motherboard after finding it last night. :)

I am not real particular with motherboards that have onboard video, usually because they share system memory and I loves my memory! :P

I will search through google to see what kinda screens I can find so I can see what this puppy can do. For $70.00 you cannot beat the price and it has a high FSB and good CPU support.

AMD seems to be a real drag when it comes to the OSx86 project in my opinion. Just search around the OSx86 10.5 (Leopard) forum and look at the problems AMD users are having.

Yes, it is posible to use an AMD platform, but it just seems like alot of trouble. Intel would probably be your best bet at this particular point in time. You will have better hardware support with using an intel platform anyway...

I could put together a better Machine Package for you if I knew what this particular Hackintosh was gonna be used for.... Just let me know.

Hey, I'm interested in that mobo to! Looks like an awesome mobo.

It's an nVidia chipset so it will be harder to put OSX on it right?

Not really...

There are nVidia kexts flying all around the forums...

Do a search for nVidia 7100 or nVidia 630i and see what turns up.

I think that I might go ahead and grab this mobo while the deals are good.... :P

i have a striker extreme mobo with the 680i chipset and the install went great and took about 15 min or so.... hope that helps with the can it work or not... actually there is a topic on all nforce chip sets on here and the write up is very helpful and has lots of info on it for new guys... here is the link.... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=87901

Well, I had the EVGA version of a GeForce 7100 motherboard. It couldn't even run my E2140 at 2.4GHz. Combined with only single channel memory, I'd say pass. Especially now that 8GB of DDR2 800 is $150. Didn't try OSX on the board, but I'd say you're likely in for an uphill battle getting it all working.

Try something with an Intel chipset if you want to run OSX. My Abit IP35-E was about $70--ran the same E2140 at 3.2GHz on the first boot. It is full ATX, however.

i was looking at

-EVGA nForce 650i Ultra (T1 Version) Socket 775 ATX Motherboard

-EVGA GeForce 8400 GS Video Card - 256MB DDR2, Supporting 512MB with TurboCache, PCI Express, DVI, VGA, HDTV, Video Card

and was wondering if this would work with a decent cpu? search is still not working..anyone know if its just me or the website?
