Spiegel
Alright, this is more of a prove that I can do it, and if I can't, then I cant. I have an HP 510 notebook which i will give the specs for in a minute, and I was wondering if it is possible to dualboot on the machine with Leopard, and if not leopard, would Tiger be possible. I know it wont run at lightning speed with this build, but it is more of just the doing than it is the practicality of it. Let me know what you think: Motherboard: HP Model 30C4 Chipset: Intel i915GMS/i910GML Southbridge: Intel 82801FBM (ICH6-M) Bios: HP 68DTV Ver. F.05 CPU: Intel Celeron M 370 1.5Ghz MMX, SSE, SSE2 Ram: 512Mb DDR2 This is all from CPU-z, but as I was writing all that I decided to pull the information from a PDF of the 510 Models and that is as follows: Processor Intel Celeron M Processor 360M (1.4-GHz, 400-MHz FSB, 1-MB L2 cache)1 Operating System Genuine Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Chipset Mobile Intel 910GML Express Chipset System Memory 512-MB 400-MHz DDR2 SDRAM One SODIMM slot; maximum optional memory 1024 MB2 Hard Drive 60-GB3 5400 rpm SMART PATA Removable Media DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive Display 15.4-inch WXGA BrightView (1280 x 800 resolution) VGA port supports resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 at 75 Hz, and lower resolutions at up to 100 Hz4 Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 Audio Conexant CX20468 Integrated speaker Stereo headphone/line out Microphone in Communications Intel 82562V 10/100 Network Connection Conexant Ultima HD2.0 56K modem5 Integrated Wireless Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG 802.11 b/g WLAN Pointing Device Touchpad with scroll zone, two soft-touch pick buttons If any more information is needed, let me know. Macshiba
Tiger might work, but I don't think so for Leopard since you don't have an SSE3 CPU. Also, I had a model HP similar to yours, and had no success. I had no success with any build on an HP. Spiegel
Well, I see the issue with Leopard, though I wont rule out trying Tiger just to see where I can get. I think I might need to prepare everything for a weekend project... Thank you for the reply, and what model HP did you try with might I ask? -Spiegel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89349-information-request-it-would-seem/#findComment-637303 Share on other sites
Macshiba
I believe it was an SR1103WM Desktop PC. I also tried it on an HP laptop last year, but I can't remember the model name or number, but it had similiar specs as yours, just a slower processor. Tiger might work, all you can do is try to boot it and press F8 and -v and see if it hangs. Spiegel
Macshiba, where exactly did it hang for you for reference of where it is frankly making me impatient and angered.... (Tiger) Thank you, -Spiegel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89349-information-request-it-would-seem/#findComment-640450 Share on other sites
