boyced
I've just got to the 3rd step on the installation. and its asking to select an installation device. But the box below it doesn't have any drives listed... If I go into the disk management menu, all the disks are showing. Do I need to format/partition them in the mac menu? Ouch
Yes, you need to create a partition and format it with the HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) before you can install. Remember that re-partitioning and formating will erase the contents of the disk. R. Bear Helms
I was able to take a second partition and using the command line partitioner in XP, remove the empty second partition and add a new partition with an id=AF. Then when booting the OS X installer, I'd choose Disk Utility from the Utility menu, click on the partition I had made under XP, and just tell it to erase. Then when I quit Disk Utility and proceeded through with the installer, it listed the volume I had erased and proceeded from there. The partition was created as a PRIMARY partition, but activating it was not needed.
