I finally got to play with a MacBook Air.

What I absolutely loved:-

The case's build quality is very impressive for something so light. The hinge feels to be of good quality, though only time will tell.

The screen has a very impressive wide viewing angle, by which I mean it darkens very little when you stand to the left or right of it. Images are superbly sharp and clear. The screen is easily as good that of some of the Sonys that I have played with.

What disappointed me:-

If you are a touch typist, the keyboard is dreadful, it's is countersunk and the keys have a poor tactile feel, feeling too lightweight/thin. You feel as though they might snap or crack easily, though I suspect they are tough. If you don't intend to do a lot of touch typing, that won't worry you. It left me in a state of despair.

The case's leading edge is sharp/blunt against the palms of your hands, something that I detest about Macs. What's wrong with curves?

In conclusion, the MacBook Air would make an excellent lightweight laptop for editing documents on the go and watching the odd movie. If you want to get a days work done in some comfort, look elsewhere, it's just not comfortable. Also, some people will notice from the get go that the core specification feels quite slow for what it is.

The main thing I dont like about it is the fact it is so light. When I have my laptop on my lap I like a little bit of weight, it gives me a feeling that my laptop wont flip off if the wind blows.
