Mac R0cketman
After the update to 10.5.2 i notice that my temps are on the higher side 44-40 when they used to be 40-38 at idle i think it is due to the vanilla AppleACPIPlatform.kext can anyone confirm this. P.S.: Please also post your AppleACPIPlatform.kext if it is patched
ScottAlpert
After the update to 10.5.2 i notice that my temps are on the higher side 44-40 when they used to be 40-38 at idle i think it is due to the vanilla AppleACPIPlatform.kext can anyone confirm this.P.S.: Please also post your AppleACPIPlatform.kext if it is patched That is most likely the cause of your problems. Back up your original, and give this one a go. It significantly reduced the temps on my notebook, and is fully compatible with 10.5.2 Let me know how it goes AppleACPIPlatform.kext.rar

ss_insaneguy
Hi Scott, thanks so much for posting that ACPI file. Can you please post just briefly how to install it? It's just a matter of replacing the current file and fixing permissions, right? What apps are you guys using to monitor temperatures? Thanks again. kennyp
SS, the easy way to replace kext is to use "kext helper". It will write and run an install script for you....much easer than manual way. As for the temp monitor I use Breskin...seems to work well. Mac R, Scott's kext worked great for me! Happy cool'n kenny
