Leopard updates (like 10.5.1, 10.5.2), if you use vanilla kernel, you are theoretically supposed to update from software update. But in practice, there are issues. As it rewrites your patched kernel. On first restart your PC won't boot at all. So, just DO NOT UPDATE from the software update. Rather use the tutorials already posted on this forum.
