flamesontheflag
Hi, I'm new to this forum (and forums in general) so i hope I'm doing this right. I've been trying for a while to put mac os x on my notebook, (LG R500) but with no luck. after partitioning problems, I finally got it installed, but could not register because my PS\2 keyboard wasn't recognized, although my ps\2 mouse was. both are the notebook's peripherals. I know there are custom drivers for ps\2 peripherals, but i was under the impression that you needed a working usb keyboard to use them. the main problem with this is that you need a keyboard to create a user after installation. 1. any ideas? 2. do i just have to buy a usb keyboard? 3. would any usb keyboard solve my problem, or would it have to be an apple-made one? flamesontheflag
no, only the mouse did. it wasn't really a problem though, i already had the partition named.what would that kernal do, and how do i use it? could you link a tutorial on them or something?so i found a thread with what you're talking about, but it didn't mention how to use it. copa
I think I may be having the same probem. I am setting up OSX Leopard on a Gateway c-140x tablet and do not have use of my internal keyboard. It works on the os choice menu (dual vista and osx) and at the beginning of darwin where I have to chose the partition to start from. However, once OSX has started up, or if started with -s, or in the installer, the internal keyboard doesnt function. I am looking for the ACPIPS2NUB kext, but correct me if I am looking for the wrong thing. Thanks. no, only the mouse did. it wasn't really a problem though, i already had the partition named.what would that kernal do, and how do i use it? could you link a tutorial on them or something?so i found a thread with what you're talking about, but it didn't mention how to use it. grimdeath9740
I understand this is an older post but hopefully this can help someone else like me: Every time I have ran the OS my keyboard would not work (usb mouse/ps2 keyboard combo), I was stuck at the registration window originally and tried unplugging and replugging my keyboard in for it to work! Unfortunately I have to do this everytime I reboot to get a working keyboard. If you guys know more permanent solutions please let me know here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=111929 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88185-no-luck-with-ps2notebook-keyboard/#findComment-793111 Share on other sites
