But, sadly, this it isn't a laugh. We Italians are truly desperate. We have general election on April 13, 2008, but we have no real choice. One candidate, Silvio Berlusconi, is a mafioso, head of a party of mafiosi and fascists, who owns 3 TV channels and 40 of the daily and weekly publications!!! The other one, Veltroni, is slightly better, but he isn't offering anything new at all, and God knows if Italy needs something akin to a revolution. We have a crazy election law which has been called "pig's shit" by its own author. Because of it, other parties, maybe with better ideas, don't stand a chance. So comedian Beppe Grillo, who has been denouncing the situation, asks Germans to "invade" us, he believes we would be better off! I ask my British friends to "invade" us. In about 20 years they made Britain one of the best places in Europe, thanks to Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair. They seem to agree. And this one: And BTW, Margaret Thatcher and Tony Blair are still available. Lady Thatcher is a bit old, but not much older than our politicians. She could be our President. Tony Blair could be our Prime Minister, he is still a youngster by comparison.
