miscbeep
Processor yes Video yes Sound yes Lan yes Except the motherboard is not exactly the same model, mine is P5LD2 - SE, the one that's supported is P5LD2 only. Is that a problem? And for the installation, I'll use this video : (or which one?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ5epvBpiUw As I will do the installation on a fully formated/deleted HDD, do I have to make partitions and something like that? Or i just put everything on one partition without making more? How do I exactly install the drivers? Do i have to put them on a CD, and after the installation to launch them from it? Thanks.. marliwahoo
Welcome to the board. You can partition using the OSX install dvd. Find osx's "disk utility" and partition as guid/osx -extended journaled. This will work well if you have a single drive and are not dual booting. Dual booting is possible, but more difficult - especially if you are trying to keep using your current windows installation. Here is a guide for a similar mb: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=41685 There are several guides for dual booting. Remember - always search first Good luck. marliwahoo
You probably have atkos or the kalyway leopard install. If you have kalyway you can chose the guid partition map. If atkos use the mbr partition map. Guid seems to have a slight performance edge, mbr seems to be easier to dual boot. I didn't understand you much.. however. Let's say the installation succeeds. How do I install drivers ? Do I have to put them on a disc? Atleast I have to activate my internet, and then to download the other drivers. I don't understand what's that "Guid" or whatever it is. How to proceed after the install? (if it completes). And won't dual boot, just a clean install! Thanks! And the CD burning, is it the same as the other OS's? miscbeep
I just tried to burn the archive to a DVD, but the program isn't recognising the format of the archive... how to burn it? marliwahoo
It is in ISO format. Use Nero and search help on how to burn an ISO. Most drives are on the Kelyway iso. After that just try it. It will probably work. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88015-can-i-run-it-on-my-machine/#findComment-627329 Share on other sites

If it succeed, it will be great. If not, I can always go back to windows. And the drivers, you say they're in the iso?And also it gave some unexpected end of the archive, but i don't think it's broken. Just the windows is messing around. http://aycu33.webshots.com/image/43392/200...75995450_rs.jpgIt's not seeing the archive O.o Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88015-can-i-run-it-on-my-machine/#findComment-627374 Share on other sites
marliwahoo
It starts as a zip file. If it has .zip at the end it must be expanded. Then you will have an .iso. That should bun just fine in Nero. Edit: After looking at your desktop pic ..... try winrar first. Then burn the ISO. YES ! most all drivers are included. Depending on you mb and pci cards you may need to download something. Most should work. Search for you motherboard. Others have probably posted on what it needs. marliwahoo
Well - stupid is my middle name too. Really - you will get better info (than mine) if you use the search. I searched the wiki for you mb. http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.1#ASUS You should be fine. After install - you will probably like to get rid of the Kalyway gui mods. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;hl=virginizer Sound fix: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;hl=apple+hda Sound patch is probably this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...st&id=18278 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88015-can-i-run-it-on-my-machine/#findComment-627459 Share on other sites

marliwahoo
Watch the video - It has bios changes that are necessary. If not - BIOS changes are probably the same as here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=41685 Everything except sound should work. Patch the sound after install. Your internet should work on start up. If not ..... Go to: Apple menu (top left) / System preferences / Network Make sure to report (here) if everything works. If the net is working, it's a matter of time to patch the sound and fix other stuff. Will it be ok, if I install leopard on the whole disk, without making other partitions? And what do I tick here? miscbeep
Hey, can somebody help me?The installation went great, everything was fine, till it asked to reboot, and then I reboot, a message shows on the screen, and says "You have to restart your PC" on Five languages.. And again and again, nothing happens, just restarting. I heard it's a problem with the BIOS. In the HSL it says (for my mobo) that the BIOS has to be tweaked somehow. The motherboard is ASUS P5LD2 - SE. (I'm writing from a Ubuntu Live CD, not very comfortable).Help, please! Thanks! BIOS needing tweaking to stop constant reboot That is for P5LD2.. miscbeep
HI again, I tried so much ways, and it's still showing the message to restart.. What's the problem... what's going on, you know. I'm a "little" bit pissed off right now. I've been trying to install kalyway's leopard for 2 days, and still the same thing as yesterday. 2 days self - torture. I potentially lost this time. If anybody has the same motherboard, please tell me how did you configurate it. Atleast to try, if it don't work, maybe it's not from my motherboard. It can be something else, I don't know what to do now. thanks. marliwahoo
I think it is in the BIOS because........ Another P5LD2 user reported this in the wiki. I copied this from the wiki P5LD2 Intel 945P Install Method: Kalyway Version 2, BIOS version 1804 Audio works with AppleHDA patcher LAN works BIOS needing tweaking to stop constant reboot ********* SATA works PC-EFI Audio needs patch Again I think the following HAVE to be set correctly: BIOS: Execute Disable Bit: Enabled CPUID: Disabled ACPI 2: Enabled Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88015-can-i-run-it-on-my-machine/#findComment-629497 Share on other sites
