SticMAC™
Not to alarm anyone, just a word of caution! I read somewhere that only 5400rpm drive can be used because of the heat generation!? It might be safer to check it out, you dont have to buy one from Apple but you can ask them if they will stick in a faster drive for you and hear what they say! this is a quote i found on the web:"Macworld's article on iMac upgrades advises against 7200rpm drives due to heat" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87937-imac-g5-2nd-generation-hard-drive/#findComment-629083 Share on other sites

A Nonny Moose
There is the overheating issue and there is also (at least historically) a problem with the hard drives needing "blessed" by Apple before they would work in there. Synaesthesia
Yes, it will run. The minimum requirement is 867mhz G4 and 512mb RAM. But more RAM will make it run much faster/smoother. Falcon351
512MB is also the quoted minimum for Vista, but it's far from ideal. Hell, I wouldn't even recommend 512 for XP these days (it seems to have developed a greater appetite over time).
