SysopGrace
I've been playing around with the built-in web server that came with my mac. I'd like to harden it now for a more specific purpose. I'd like to to cut if off from the internet so that only people on my network can access it. Can I specify a hostname somewhere? Say like on our network my mac is called grace.klroom - can i use that? i'd also like to turn off directory generation, so people can't just list files. lastly, i'd just like to setup some custom error msgs with it too. how can i go about doing this? thanks a lot. i'm still very new to the mac's built-in apache. inimicus
Configure your router to block/redirect external port 80/8080 requests. Then only internal computers can access it. Consult your router manual/manufacturer for more. Otherwise, check out the Apache web site for more detailed information on how to configure Apache to your liking.
