hello all:

i have sucessfully installed the Kalyway 10.5.1 leopard OS on my Dell Latitude D520 Series. (Specs)

Intel Core 2 Duo @2.00 GhZ

120 GB HDD

2 GB RAM

Intel 945 Chipset

these are what i installed Kalyway with:

1) SSE2_system

2) Boot_efi_MBR (yes, i partitioned my hard drive to MBR)

3) vanilla kernel active (both options)

Ok. so the installation went fine, no problems whatsoever. when i went to boot Leopard for the first time, it worked! when my BIOS was done loading, the message came up to "press any key to enter startup options" with a countdown of 5. i didn't press anything, i let it boot. so Leopard loaded, i completed the initial setup, and it worked fine, except NO SOUND AT ALL, or MIC input. i played with it for a bit, then shut it down. a while later, when i tried again, i did the same thing: just let it boot. the Apple screen with the spinning lines came up, and then my laptop rebooted. i pressed F12 at the BIOS, and selected the Internal HDD option to boot from. i then entered startup options and pressed F8 and then -v. this actually works "when it wants to", and it usually doesn't. but it does work sometimes, and i want to know why it does not always boot normally without pressing anything. it's driving me crazy!

and can someone tell me how to get sound to work, again i have a Dell D520.

Hi mate,

I installed it and exactly the same thing happened to me. Did you ever get around this problem???

Also I had problems with the GMA950 Kext from Natits, I could get the Resolution higher and had bad tearing. Did you experience this?

I gave up on it in the end and put Vista back on, but now i'm looking at it again because Vista is driving me crazy.

-Matt
