maciekish
Hi! People keep talking about the Crative X-Fi cards working with some kind of XMod hack. But after searching for 10mins i still havn't found a link. Could someone please be so kind and tell me where i can find the drivers to make my audio work? Im sick of moving the speaker cable from motherboard audio to X-Fi when using windows and back to motherboard for audio in OSX =( Thanks MS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87611-creative-x-fi/ Share on other sites
an4rew
That applies to the external sound cards. There will probably never be a driver for the internal x-fi. Hakemon
Yea, Xmod isn't a hack, it's an actual external USB sound device. Mine works great with everything that supports USB Audio. Fastjack
From us.creative.com: - Make your MP3s sound better than CDs - Turn stereo music and movies into virtual surround - Truly Plug and Play—no drivers or software to install - Works with PC, Mac and notebooks The only question is if mic will work in OSX. zbot_1
This baby is awesome (works with OSX86 Out-Of-The-Box)... But, it uses way too much "juice" (i.e., amperage). It crashes even my Desktop if I have it connected to a (non-externally-powered) USB hub. The only way it doesn't crash my system, is if I have it connected directly to an USB port on my actual computer (again, a Desktop). Thus, I think (for reference) that using it on a Laptop (which are limited on the amount of current they can provide on the USB ports in comparison to a Desktop machine) is futile. Sorry for the bad news, and please correct me if I'm wrong...
