Is it ok to grip the MBP when picking up and handling, like with one hand, putting pressure on the screen (talking about when it is closed)? Or is it ok to apply pressure to pick it up with one hand, pressing the thumb down onto the back of the closed screen?

Is it bad to leave it plugged in for long periods of time, or does this cause over charge or over heating?

Actually, I was wondering the same for the iPod, is it bad to always leave the iPod connected to a power source if the battery is full? Will this cause the battery to over charge or over heat?

Any other handling and/or power tips or anything else for someone new to laptops all together?

Thanks!

I've also wondered about this. Although, I'm sure you've heard countless times the quality and durability of Apple's hardware (specifically in this case: MacBooks/Pro (and now Air I'm sure...). Nonetheless, for the 4 months I've had my MacBook (first and only so far), I've grabbed it with my thumb braced on the back of the closed screen. When I first got it, I noticed that the screen would bend when I do this. But I still do it even to this day. As of the power, I leave it charging all night, even when it's 90% full battery. I've noticed that when it's charging, the MagSafe adapter gets hot, but when I wake up from charging it all night, the adapter is cold: so that must mean that it stops charging when it's full (plus for you).

Keep in mind that there are some MacBooks out there that have defects in them, and that's purely a fluke, and does not occur for all MacBooks. For example, there are some MagSafe adapters that fry when left in too long, etc...

Don't let it fool or get the best of you. Also, if it's a new MacBook and it gets damaged, hope that your warranty is still valid!

BTW. I don't know about keeping the iPod plugged in. I imagine it's the same.
