Full Install on DELL E510

I have been able to get everything to work on this build except for my X1300 Video card.

The local Intel card works perfect, with full screen and color resolution.

 

Build for my Dell E521 AMD locks up on anything I try to do with the Disk. So I gave up on that.

 

Questions:

 

Has anyone else gotten the install to work for AMD on Dell Workstations? Dual Core

 

Can someone explain to me in Stupid (What Kext files are)

 

My distribuiton of Leapord is Kalyway 10.5.1

 

I have both builds, AMD and Intel

I'm using the Intel on my 510 and it works great, perfect in fact. But video, and that is needed for VMWare.

 

Also, I wanted to thank everyone on this site and any others that make all of this work so much better.

I've enjoyed this new direction away from windows and linux desktops. You all have created something that is just great. Thank you.

I have the same system as yours (DELL E510). I had tried a lot before and tried Kalyway's 10.5.1 distro but with no success.

 

Can you please tell me which Leopard Distro you are using. ( SSE3 or one with both SSE2/SSE3).

 

As for the video card I have long back replaced the Default video card it came with by NVidia 8500 GTX card.

 

Also did u use GUI or MBR ?? and is lan and audio working OTB or did u have to replace any KEXTS?

 

Would really appreciate some feedback !!
