Really, if you're looking for the same type of construction and same quality of components, you're going to pay just as much for any other brand as you would an Apple. u1m2 Posted February 14, 2008 Share Posted February 14, 2008 Lenovo Thinkpad R61 is a great notebook for the price although you would probably have to buy a compatible wireless card. Recently the R and the T series have become more comparable in build quality and other aspects as well. Lenovo doesn't offer higher end graphics and some other features with the R series which are reserved for the T series but that's about it. I have always liked the professional no-nonsense look of the IBM thinkpad series and the engineering + build quality of the product is better than Apple notebooks imho.
