outerworld123
So I had to use the cpus=1 -x -v to get the installer to even BOOT... then i'm reading what it says and often enough it fails to load or find a bunch of stuff.... but the installer boots nevertheless.... i install onto a fresh partition and it all seems to go well until it says "installing essentials" and the installer stops, it says i need to try reinstalling again (which doesn't work of course). it also has overwritten my boot record so now i can't boot into windows OR mac... and the darwin timeout doesn't last enough for me to enter and rewrite it so that i can boot to windows.... my computer's in bad shape.... boba899
Can't help with OS X as there isn't enough hardware information, but to restore the MBR to be able to boot windows, use these intstructions (assuming you have XP, the Vista DVD has a simpler 'Repair' option). Boot from the windows XP CD, press the "R" key in the setup in order to start the restoration console. Select your windows XP installation from the list, and enter the administrator password.Enter the command: "FIXMBR" (without the quotes) at the input prompt and confirm the next question with a "Y" (without the quotes). Use exit to restore the computer. From the site below http://www.techzonez.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-3975.html
