Affini
I have read several forum posts on the b0 error trying to boot and followed the guide on how to make your partition bootable (here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=22844 ) - I verified that it is bootable using DiskUtility. My hardware: ASUS P5B Deluxe with 1226 BIOS SATA Seagate 750GB Hard Drive SATA Samsung DVD drive 4 GB RAM NVidia 8600GTS video card Anyone know what I need to do to fix the issue? Did I possibly choose the wrong Customize settings during the install? Thank you for the help! nbpc
Can you be more specific? I'm running into the same issue on a Gigabyte 956P-DS3 v2 board. I ran thru the fdisk stuff using the installer DVD and it looks good there. NOTE: I'm a big time newbie I'm using a PATA DVD drive N Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87326-b0-error-after-install-of-kalyway-1051/#findComment-625700 Share on other sites
impreswrx
I've only had b0 errors come up when I don't install the corresponding bootsector as to how I formatted my drive. GUID - GUID, or MBR - MBR. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87326-b0-error-after-install-of-kalyway-1051/#findComment-625765 Share on other sites
Kibitz
If you use Efi 8.0, the b0 eroor is not a big problem: Take the XxX 10.4.10 DVD boot from it, and install only the Efi 8.0 GUID, or EFI 8.0 MBR from it. Unselect all, but EFI 8.0 (GUID or MBR). And it will boot. Installation of EFI 8.0 from this DVD will not finish. Just wait 3 Minutes and then go to Installer menu and klick at cancel installation. Catalyst83
I found that if i installed kalyway without the vanilla and with the boot loader MBR it was able to boot for me without that error. Affini
I still do not know exactly what the issue was but I think it was due to both trying to install drivers using the Kalyway install. When I DO NOT choose any of the drivers (video, network, etc) or GUID and DO choose both Kernels and MBR it is fine. When I chose MBR and ANY DRIVER I had issues. So... at least with my mobo... MBR + both Kernels + No Drivers works fine. emotional friend
It doesn't look like anyone else really addressed this issue with a reference to the best solution: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/B0_error Personally, I'm really frustrated with how slow this IP.Board package is running and the fact that threads can't be viewed flat. Oh, and search just is garbage. You have to use Google with the site:forum.insanelymac.com to get anything of value in a reasonable amount of time. I wish the admins would archive this whole system and relaunch this forum on a new forum package. emotional friend Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87326-b0-error-after-install-of-kalyway-1051/#findComment-1027083 Share on other sites
