lag0matic
I managed to get it running on this motherboard. In fact, posting from it now. I had to use Azilia audio kexts, and a IDE hard drive. Dual Core 6400 4 gigs of ram 180 gig PATA drive (osx) 320gig sata drive (vista) USB keyboard/mouse SATA DVD burner Using a logitech quickcam for a mic. I tried to install on the SATA drive, but it would constantly lockup while attempting to create the OSX partition. Dropped the IDE drive in.. and no problems Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-618293 Share on other sites

lag0matic
I dont recall having to do anything special in BIOS to make it work. However, if you dont own a USB keyboard, save yourself the pain of trying to get PS/2 to work and just buy a USB board. lag0matic
Re-reading your post, I see you say you have an intel processor. Are you *Sure* you have an Asus M2N-SLI delux? I have this motherbaord, and its socket AM2 (AMD processors). Kinda confused me Also, if you've acutally installed the OS, but afterwords it will not boot (black screen with a blinking cursor) You probably need to set your partition to active! you can do that by doing this: Boot with the DVD and use -s at boot load. (Press f8, then type -s, and press enter) sudo -s fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX --->(X is the number of your HD, if you have only on its 0) updatef X --->(X is the number of the partition where you installed Leopard) w q reboot If you've only got a single hard drive, the /dev/ridiskX would be /dev/rdisk0 and if there is only one parition on that hard drive it would be f 1 (if i remember correctly) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-620946 Share on other sites
bigjoe
thank you, yesb i'm sure! it's 100% the m2n- sli delux.....with am2 socket..... one qoustion....sorry if i'm annoying u^^ are u abele to use the internet with it? lag0matic
Ok, it sounds like you dont have leopard installed at all! So, lets start from scratch. You have a single hard drive, with 2 partitions on it, correct? If this is the case, you need to set the type of your OSX partition to AF (Sometimes called shagos Swap) Once you've done that, you need to boot from your install DVD, the install process should start up on its own, if not, try booting with different startup options -v -f -x cpus=1 -legacy ect ect.. if the DVD wont start the installer, tell me what the errors you see are and we'll see what we can do. If you have a second PC you can use an isntant messanger on while you're setting up this one.. try to IM me on AIM My screen name is Darkmajik99 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-622640 Share on other sites
Gipo
i'm pretty sure that you've got 2 possibility... because i got this mob. 1) if you run a m2n32-sli-deluxe it's impossible that you have an intel processor, then you can't install Leo from kaliway release... you need an AMD one. Search about Zephirot release, but it's tricky for this mobo and i'm waiting for it's rev.2 2) if you got an intel cpu please tell us which motherboard is and we can try to help you. lag0matic
I also have this motherboard, and I'm running Zephys 10.5.1 release just fine I was pretty sure he meant he had an AMD processor, but, I was trusting what he said. if he *Does* have an AMD, I can help him get Zephy's 10.5.1 going Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-622846 Share on other sites
bigjoe
sorry^^ i have got an amd.....i just thout i have ot an intel cause it is duocore and that confused me a little.... i try to add you but now i have to go to school^^ so u sa kalway wont help in my case? i try to get zephy ..... thx im back from school^^ ....so i tried everything again with kalyway....the-s, -f, -x, -v, the thing with fdisk....evertime i tried it said EBIOS error: device timeout block 894048 sectors 64 i dont know if the patition i set right..... i just downloaded prtition magic and made a new ntfs partition.....should i doo anything else? or should i start getting the zephy's???? thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-623466 Share on other sites
lag0matic
Kalyway will *not* work on an AMD processor. You need to get Zephyroth 10.5.1 AMD DVD from one of the usual sources. Did you get AIM working. I'll leave Ichat up all day if you need to ask a question. runningboy01
I had no luck with Zeph. I used Kalaway 10.5.2 DVD. @mindkiller So you were able to get to the install part correct, you just get a black screen after rebooting? Did you try booting with -v -x -f ? Try that if not and see if it helps. Also, which HDD did you install it to? mindkilla
reporting success! i guess the graphic driver i chose before the installation was not proper for my card (it has 256mb memory, so i chose nvinject 256, but "nvinject" seems more suitable) but i made more changes, so i cant be sure Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87009-asus-m2n-sli-deluxe/#findComment-719842 Share on other sites

debianx
I got Leo install on an 80GB Sata Drive. I ended up having to install a ide hdd and dvd burner I had lying around. Install Kalyway 10.5.2 using ide burner everything working except the network card but I knew that going into the install.
