coachwoody
Okay so I finally bought a genuine mac. But I want to migrate my old stuff to my new mac (especially pics, music and firefox bookmarks). But the firewire method doesn't seem to work. Any solutions out there. My new mac is a 2gig mini with superdive. Thanks in advance.

My new mac is a 2gig mini with superdive. Thanks in advance. Both on the same network? If so then turn on the file sharing in System Preferences -> Sharing then copy the files to the new machine, you can add to finder a Connect button by right clicking on the Toolbar then using Customize then drag the Connect icon to the tool bar. Once this is done you can click on the Connect button then use something like this afp://192.168.0.100 changing to the IP of the machine you want to connect too then navigate to the user enter then password browse to the directories you want to copy and drag and drop to new machine. For firefox there is a bookmark sync add-on I seen somewhere to keep multiple machine in sync you may want to try this or you can simply use the Export function in the Bookmark editor to save a copy of your current links then open the resulting .html file on your new machine and bookmark them again.
