I've heard that it is possible to change this code... i suppose it is a a privacy issue... phb
I have no idea what you are talking about. Safari as in the frontend is not opensource. However the backend of safari is opensource. aka "WebKit" aka modified KHTML Find it's site here: http://webkit.opendarwin.org/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8679-safari-browser-code/#findComment-53959 Share on other sites
Eggman
Maybe he means the User Agent? Like IE6 for Windows is Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0b; Windows 98). I think it's possible to do it, but I don't know. Firefox can do it with the User Agent Switcher extension, available here: http://chrispederick.com/work/useragentswitcher/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8679-safari-browser-code/#findComment-53968 Share on other sites
holden caulfield
Like I said - more of a security issue - - for example, it's possible for sites to see what browsers you are using - (as to the left it says "microsoft bob") - you know - I just wasn't sure if something in x86 safari says "x86 safari" - - you know - dont need to advertise what browser I'm using- - especially since it could be x86 safari - Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8679-safari-browser-code/#findComment-54037 Share on other sites
