MacBookJoe
Hey Guys, I've been searching the forums and talking on IRC and i'm still unable to find a solution to my (what i think maybe) simple problem. Once i installed Kalyway 10.5 on a 2nd partion (1st partion being XP) i would see the darwin bootloader, showing me Kalyway and forgion OS all good so far. OSX boots great but XP would only get as far as the moment before login. So i reinstalled XP on the same partion it was on, but since then I've lost my Darwin Bootloader. HOW DO I GET IT BACK? Any help would be great. J. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86039-xp-64-osx-105-darwin-bootloader-gone/ Share on other sites
Headrush69
I'm guessing you are using EFI emulation? You need to re-perform the dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1 step Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86039-xp-64-osx-105-darwin-bootloader-gone/#findComment-610530 Share on other sites

Headrush69
Download EFI and store it on your HD. (from Netkas' site) Then you can boot from your Leopard DVD, go to terminal, change to that folder and do the command. (When you download EFI it includes instructions. You just need to do that one step.) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86039-xp-64-osx-105-darwin-bootloader-gone/#findComment-611871 Share on other sites
MacBookJoe
Thanks Mate, my partions are MBR not guid, but i got round it. I added the Chain0 to the Boot.ini in XP and that allowed me to choose OSX when i boot. Only issue now is (and i am really just nit picking) when i select OSX it goes to the Darwin Bootloader then by default (unless i press F8) boots back into to XP. how do i change my default boot in Darwin Bootloader to my OSX partition? cheers. Joe. I have similar problems, I edited the boot plist file and after the bios darwin bootloader is not loading up , just a cursor keeps flashing, so I wanted to ask , there are two things that I think I can do, boot from a kalyway disc and (I'm not sure it has terminal there) remove the commands that i added OR boot with a windows disk and reapir mbr, pls advice on this Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/86039-xp-64-osx-105-darwin-bootloader-gone/#findComment-663105 Share on other sites
