JawsThemeSwimming428
I have been searching through the forum and have not found a definitive answer to how I shoud I should go about correctig this issue. As the title indicates I am getting the "Still waiting for root devices" error each time I boot the Kalyway DVD. My hardware specs are as follows: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz (e6850) Motherboard: Intel P35 Video Card: eVGA Geforce 8600GTS 256MB RAM: 2 GB Sound: Integrated Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 226 I can try to get specific things if you let me know what you need. I found this post but at the top it just says to play with the BIOS settings and reboot (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34938). I have tried finding the settings in BIOS as described in the last few posts here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=85565. I am not sure what else to try. If anyone can give me some advice I would really appreciate it. I would love to get this working!!!
Wayfarer247
I had the same problem as you with a few of my Installation DVD's. For my though, Kalyway was the DVD tht got passed that stage. From what I understand, "Still waiting for root device" is very generic, and can be caused by a few different things. However, a common problem seems to be hard drives, which you did not list. Perhaps that will help us out? What hard drives do you have?
JawsThemeSwimming428
Sorry about that and thanks for the reply. I am trying to install it on a 7200 RPM 400GB Hitachi Deskstar which uses SATA.
