The hdd is sata.P.S. There is no option in bios to set it to AHCI. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85747-10410-on-dell-laptop/ Share on other sites

nei-k
the best method to install OSx on Inspiron 1501 is with VMWare as described here. I've tryed Kalyway distribution and is the only one that boot and install directly, but after that will not work. I've also tryed to install it via VMWare, but got the same problems. I recomend you to install TUBGirl 10.4.10, was the best for me! Keep in mind that you must set the partition for OSx to be PRIMARY, not logical or else, and if you have 3 or more partitions on your HDD, the one with OSx must not be the last one, it will not work! Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85747-10410-on-dell-laptop/#findComment-609301 Share on other sites
Slinger2g
Thanks for the info! With Tubgirl, do I still have to use VMWare, or can it just install native?
