Either:

A. DON'T use Terminal - boot into single user mode and use the command prompt to delete

OR

B. Boot using safe mode ( -x ) and delete the files from the OS X Desktop using Finder...

i tried using -s and deleting the files and it says the files are read only

i tried using the wiki and it does nothing. i wish i could do b! i'm trying to get into leopard in the first place thats why i'm deleting the kexts lol

Hey Man,

Well, I am very n00b to Mac, but have learnt a bit poking around getting mine going. If you want to delete a file on your drive...

  1. Boot using the install disk
  2. Once install starts launch the Terminal
  3. cd /
  4. cd /Volumes/yourpartitionname <---Change to your partition name

This will dump you into the root of the partition and allow you to navigate and delete any kext.

When it gets to the ROOT# you will see just above that is TWO /SBIN/****** commands the "mount" one will make the drive editable and you will be able to access the drive!
