jazzyb88
Hi, I keep getting 'Checksum Cookie not valid' errors and launchd errors. And yes, i have mounted with Daemon Tools and set CD-ROM in VMWare to boot off Daemon Tools. I've also set the virtual cd-rom on the same ribbon as the IDE hard drive. Hard disk is set as persistant storage, and i've tried emulation as Win NT, FreeBSD, Other and Darwin. Please see attached image. I've also tried Kalyway's release, LeoToH and now ToH RC2. All MD5's have been correct. Also posting VMWare config settings. jazzyb88
I'm sure some people have got it going. I even tried installing Leopard natively on my PC and got the same errors (apart from Cookie Checksum). I did get Tiger working fine under VMWare though. Mr Bakoo
I have read a post of some one who got this working... I got this error you got using a virtual drive, i burnt the image to a real disc and then i got all the way into the setup, and got the error about "DMA" or something... There is another post on here with step by step instructions, so must be possible, but i dont think its by any means stable... jazzyb88
Anyone thought of a solution for this? iSnatch
I think you can't do this in vmware. I try Parallels and VirtualBox but they both stopped on changing resolution step. sp0ro
VMware Workstation 6.x or ACE 6.x? I heard none of the Kalyway releases support the ACE versions of VMware. Black Knight
I just installed VMWare 6.0.3 and booted up my Leopard Install with EFI8. The only thing I'm working on is video driver support. It uses a card with device/vendor id 0x040515ad. jed717ph
Users who got their Leopard working on VMware is ; by having the Leopard pre-installed on the HD and just mounting the HD to the VMware computer. It's a 10.5.0 install. I'm thinking of a retail CD or brazilmac patch thing.. iSnatch
I mount HD with installed Leopard(maked from flat image) and it's crash the same way like parallels/virtualbox. If I boot from HD everything goes ok. I'm using Workstation 6.0 now. Will try 6.03. bhups
Is it a built in driver issue for the VMWARE and Leopard? i.e. the Leopard OSX does not have the drivers on to let it install on the VMWare? Leopard has been a pain for a while... Tiger was no probs at all. zyml
I used DAEMON tools instead of the built-in ISO mount. That worked for me. I'm just stuck during the installation process. jazzyb88
Maybe it's just picky with which hardware it chooses to support. For laptop users with SATA hard drives, installation is nearly impossible because there's no way of fiddling about with your hardware e.g. you can't use a SATA to ATA bridge. I think that might be my problem.
