The name is "Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.1 for AMD SSE2/SSE3 (32bits)"

I am currently running gutsy ubuntu (7.10) on an amd athlon 64 3000. It is SSE1 and SSE2. I have a couple of questions to ask.

1. How do I burn the .rar files to a disc

2. If this version of leopard is for SSE2/SSE3, will it work on my computer? (SSE1/SSE2)

3. I have a 500 gig sata drive. Will Leopard see the drive?

4. Is Leopard the best option for my computer?

I've read around the board and wiki, but have found mixed results about my computer. I would appreciate any help.

Please tell me if I missed any info or if you need extra information.

Thanks in advance.

The short answer is NO...

Although the title says "SSE2", it actually only supports SSE3 CPU's. It'll need a different kernel to work on an SSE2 CPU. (not as easy as it sounds - you have a LOT of research to do!)

Because this question applies more to Tiger, should I make a new topic in that section?

Also, I'm getting the version called "Mac_OS_X_10.4.8_[JaS_AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3_with_PPF1___PPF2].iso.3652157.TPB"

Is there a guide to getting it working on SATA drives, or should it work fine?

Thanks again!
